George Mtn. was awfully overgrown the last time I was up there, but it was a fun trip.  I'm game for an "end of June" trip...

I'm pretty sure I'm game for that.  Do you have directions to the trail head?  I've pretty much forgotten how to get there....

ya the 23rd, but i don't know either, never been there so i'm no help.

I know its down the buckhorn, past the willow river bridge turnoff, and then maybe 5-10km further, turn right...?

Take Buckhorn mainline.  Stay right at the willow river bridge turn you'll climb a small hill, and a long starght stretch.  at the end of the stretch there is a road on the right called the Willow-Thursday.  (if you hit the bridge on the main road turn around, you just passed the road you want)  Turn up that one and take the second fork to the left (the first fork is a deactivated bridge.  Bring a chainsaw.  That road can have have alot of blowdown on it.  Have fun!

Well, that was a short trip for me; rolled through the intersection at 15th and Central and promptly peeled some teeth off the rear pinion...   Home via BCAA...

I guess now would be a good time to put the elocker setup in the rear end...

so five of us headed out, none of us knowing where we were going, we hit the thursday rd and headed for george. bumped into a guy panning for gold and he said we where following thursday creek so away we went.  we hit a y and went up the right side of the valley. then we came across a beaver dam blocking the rd. after negociating the dam we stopped and looked at the map book and thought we were on the wrong side of the creek so we headed back down th the previous y in the rd. We bumping into a dude that said he's been to george mnt going the way we were and talked about turning left a a clear cut ( we should have listened to him as I just talked to ray and he explained the exact same thing as the dude told us )

we turned left at the y and head up, then the alder got intence, everything look as it should terrain wise as the map book but the alder took us down.

from talking to ray we were on the lower origional george mnt trail, so want to go again with some who's been up there before to find the cut across that the dude and ray are talking about.
